The owner, Companhia Industrial Cimento Apodi, decided to invest in a new, complete cement plant with a 3,500 tons per day (TPD) clinker capacity. The first phase of commissioning was completed in December 2013, and commissioning for the whole plant was completed at the end of 2014.
